HEY, JOE ... SAY IT ISN'T SO

More evidence the world has gone mad … An unidentified person bet $100,000 that the coin flip for this year’s Super Bowl would be tails.

Or, how about $1 million to win approximately $833,000 if

the 49ers succeed?

Don’t hold your breath but ... Cliff Kingsbury is said to be

next OC of The Washington Football Team, with Eric

Bieniemy bound from D.C., to Las Vegas … which was

expected to land Kingsbury (according to ESPN’s crack

insiders) but, for reasons not explained, didn’t.

Kingsbury would seem a better bet for the Bears after

spending a year honing the considerable talents of QB Caleb

Williams at Southern California. Chicago has first draft pick,

and Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner who followed

coach Lincoln Riley from Oklahoma to USC, is the

consensus No. 1 … Williams quickly refuted rumors he would

pull a John Elway and refuse to report if drafted by Chicago.

Taken by the Colts No. 1 overall in 1983, QB Elway said he

would rather play pro baseball than pro football in Baltimore

… and subsequently was traded to Denver where he had a

Hall of Fame career.

From a sampling of comments, Bears’ fans don’t want

Williams, who comes with a less than sparkling reputation and

… whose father is calling the shots … and, reading between

the lines, isn’t interested in D.C.

How about this one? … The Cowboys interviewed ousted

Washington coach Ron Rivera for DC, which became vacant

when Dan Quinn replaced Rivera in D.C.

If you’re head isn’t spinning out of control by now …

shunned by Kingsbury, Las Vegas is said likely to hire Luke

Getsy as OC. He was fired by the Bears in the same capacity

after having one of the NFL’s best running -- and one of the

worst passing – games … QB Justin Fieldsreportedly blamed

“the coaches” for … I swear, I’m not making this up … his

“robotic play” this past season … How funny would it be if

the Raiders land Getsy then … make a deal for Fields?

Oh, darn … Variety reports Joe Biden will not appear on

CBS for the annual Presidential Super Bowl interview. At

least he’s consistent, having turned down Fox last year …

which was understandable (sort of) but CBS?

Until next time ...
